Professional medical service of Ultrasound Guided Breast Biopsy
What is it?
An ultrasound-guided breast biopsy is a minimally invasive procedure where ultrasound imaging helps guide a hollow needle to the site of a breast abnormality to remove tissue samples for microscopic examination. It is used to determine if a breast growth is benign or cancerous.
Why Should I Do It?
Your doctor may recommend an ultrasound-guided breast biopsy if an ultrasound reveals:
- A suspicious solid mass in the breast.
- A distortion in the structure of breast tissue.
- An area of abnormal tissue change.
In some cases, ultrasound guidance may be used even for masses that can be felt.
