Spine Imaging Unit
The Spine Imaging Unit at Rad Care Center offers a comprehensive range of high-resolution diagnostic imaging techniques to evaluate spinal diseases and injuries, while ensuring the highest standards of patient comfort and safety, including sedation or anesthesia when needed—especially for MRI scans that require complete stillness.
Available imaging techniques at Rad Care:
1. X-ray Uses :
- Initial assessment in cases of trauma and fractures.
- Diagnosing alignment problems such as scoliosis and kyphosis.
- Detecting degenerative changes such as osteoarthritis or spondylolisthesis.
- Follow-up of surgical hardware fixation after operations.
2. Computed Tomography (CT) Uses :
- Detailed evaluation of spinal bone structures.
- Diagnosing spinal canal stenosis, bone tumors, or complex fractures.
- Mainly used for planning surgical interventions.
3. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Uses:
- Evaluation of soft tissues: herniated discs, spinal cord compression, tumors.
- Diagnosing infections such as osteomyelitis or abscesses, and inflammatory conditions.
- Assessment of spinal cord diseases such as myelopathy and cauda equina syndrome.
4. Positron Emission Tomography / Computed Tomography (PET/CT) Uses:
- Cancer staging, particularly in cases of spinal metastases.
5. Ultrasound Uses:
- Diagnosing spinal abnormalities in infants, such as spina bifida.
- Guiding interventional procedures such as lumbar puncture.
